Job Description
UNFPA Madagascar seeks an individual consultant to produce the 2024–2025 national report on maternal and perinatal death surveillance and response. The consultant will assess progress since 2024, analyze regional data, draft a national SDMPR development plan, and deliver validated reports that inform future maternal and newborn health programming and policy decisions.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Assess actions undertaken for Madagascar's SDMPR programme since 2024
- Produce a national narrative report for 2024 and 2025 with data disaggregated by region
- Develop a consensus national SDMPR development plan for the current UNFPA programme cycle
- Prepare an inception report with methodology and timeline
- Deliver a validated annual SDMPR report and implementation plan for recommendations
Role Requirements
- Master's-level Public Health qualification
- At least 5 years of surveillance experience, including SDMPR
- At least three documented experiences leading the finalization of strategic documents
- Excellent French writing skills
- Medical training and a Master in Public Health
Desired Criteria
- Experience with the United Nations system
- Training in emergency obstetric and neonatal care
