Migration Health Physician - On call

IOM seeks an on-call Migration Health Physician to support the Migration Health Division in Colombo. The consultant delivers health assessments for resettlement processes, treats and manages clinical cases, oversees immunisation and quality controls, maintains clinical data and reporting, supports procurement and budgets, and contributes to emergency health response activities in Sri Lanka.

• Ensure efficient daily operations of the Migration Health Division
• Conduct migration health assessments including examinations, imaging and laboratory testing
• Record health information for refugees and migrants in standard forms
• Treat tuberculosis and sexually transmitted infections and support HIV counselling
• Coordinate immunisation and presumptive treatment programmes
• Maintain quality-improvement systems and implement standard operating procedures
• Analyse migration health data and provide reports to the Chief Migration Health Officer
• Coordinate procurement of medical equipment, vaccines, medications and supplies

• University degree in Medicine with at least four years of professional work experience
• Valid licence to practise within the country
• Fluency in English and Sinhala or Tamil
• Continuous clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting

• Clinical specialisation in pediatrics, pulmonology or emergency medicine
• Clinical specialisation in internal medicine
• Expertise in public health, health care administration or healthcare management
• Master trainer experience
• Experience in emergency settings
