Job Description

Supports IOM’s Migration Health Informatics work by integrating, validating and governing artificial-intelligence tools for health-assessment operations. The specialist helps teams assess clinical AI solutions, strengthen data quality and analytics, document safeguards and model risks, and build staff capacity for safe human-reviewed use of AI in medical workflows across global health programmes.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Implement approved AI tools in pre-migration health workflows and support radiology quality control
  • Test and validate AI models for medical classification, computer-aided diagnosis and operational quality control
  • Prepare LLM validation protocols and coordinate bias, privacy, access-control and audit-trail safeguards
  • Maintain AI governance artefacts including model cards, risk assessments, oversight procedures and monitoring plans
  • Integrate AI services with medical-record and patient-management systems
  • Assess commercial and open-source AI solutions for health workflows
  • Create analytics and visualizations for programme statistics, performance and user experience
  • Train clinicians, radiographers and data staff on AI and LLM use and limitations

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Medicine, Radiography, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering or a related field with five years of relevant professional experience, or a University degree with seven years
  • Certification, coursework or demonstrable applied experience in AI or machine learning, medical imaging informatics, NLP or LLM applications, health-data analytics or responsible AI for health
  • Fluency in English, orally and in writing

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with Microsoft Synapse or Fabric data analytics
  • Practical knowledge of MLOps or LLMOps
  • Experience with sensitive health data, electronic medical records, clinical workflows, medical imaging, health standards or health information systems
  • Working knowledge of Spanish
  • Background in global health and migration
  • Background in open-source or commercial AI technology stacks
