National Staff Counsellor

Delivers confidential staff-counselling and wellness support for WFP Haiti personnel and dependents in a demanding humanitarian context. The counsellor provides crisis response, referrals, field visits, induction and training, monitors wellbeing trends, links staff with local mental-health resources, and helps strengthen morale, resilience and safe team dynamics.

• Provide counselling, case management and referrals for WFP staff and dependents
• Deliver timely individual and group counselling after critical incidents and follow up cases
• Plan field visits and submit visit reports on return to the duty station
• Deliver induction courses for newly recruited staff and support sessions for the Hotline team
• Develop wellbeing training on resilience, harassment and cross-cultural sensitivity
• Identify local mental-health resources and coordinate crisis referrals
• Prepare monthly activity reports with statistical data
• Maintain ethical standards for psychological services

• Master's degree in clinical or counselling psychology or Sociology, or a university degree with at least 5 additional years of relevant work experience
• Active mental-health-professional licensure or registration with a recognized governing association in good standing
• Fluency in oral and written English and French
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience relevant to counselling

• Training or certification in alcohol or substance abuse, resilience, cross-cultural communication, conflict resolution, mediation or trauma
• Experience working in a hardship location or counselling staff in difficult and insecure environments
