Job Description
WFP seeks a Food Technologist/Nutritionist in Dakar to advance nutrition value chains, local food solutions and large-scale food fortification across West and Central Africa. The officer provides technical and programme support on food processing, quality and safety, fortification and local production; works with country offices and partners; and strengthens access to safe, nutritious foods.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide technical and programme support on local food production and fortification
- Provide technical assistance to fortified-food producers on processing and formulation
- Collaborate with food technologists, nutritionists, government and private-sector stakeholders
- Support country offices to engage producer groups, SMEs and national food manufacturers
- Integrate social and behaviour-change approaches into food initiatives
- Support design, implementation, monitoring and scale-up of food-fortification programmes
- Document and disseminate best practices on nutrition-sensitive value chains
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in food technology, food engineering, agrobusiness, health sciences, nutrition or an equivalent related field
- At least three years of postgraduate professional experience in a similar field
- Fluency in English and French
Desired Criteria
- Experience in the West and Central Africa region and knowledge of its procedures
