Job Description

UNICEF seeks a National Officer to provide technical, operational and administrative support for Social and Behaviour Change strategies focused on girls’ empowerment in Egypt. The role supports strategy design, implementation, advocacy and partnerships, while helping sustain donor-supported initiatives. It applies social and behavioural evidence, community engagement and strategic communication to improve outcomes for children and communities.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of Social and Behaviour Change activities
  • Support implementation of Social and Behaviour Change activities for girls’ empowerment
  • Contribute to advocacy, networking and partnership building
  • Support innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
  • Provide technical, operational and administrative support for implementation and monitoring of SBC strategies

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent first-level university degree in psychology, sociology, anthropology, social and behavioral sciences, communication studies, communication for development, political science, social sciences or a related field
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in social development programme planning, communication for development, social behaviour change or public advocacy
  • Fluency in Arabic and English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of international organizations, gender equality, girls’ empowerment, civil-society partnerships, behavioural science research or communication development
  • Relevant country-level experience, particularly in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
