Overview

Lead UNICEF Cameroon social and behaviour change strategy, evidence generation and programming across development and emergencies. The chief designs participatory interventions, mobilises resources and partnerships, strengthens staff and partner capacity, and scales approaches that improve child rights and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an evidence-based national strategy and process for social and behaviour change
  • Generate and use research, data and evidence to design and monitor programmes
  • Design and implement participatory SBC activities in development and humanitarian settings
  • Advocate for SBC and mobilise resources across sectors and stakeholders
  • Build and manage government, civil-society and other external partnerships
  • Strengthen staff and partner capacity through technical guidance and learning
  • Promote continuous learning and scale effective SBC approaches
  • Manage complex office priorities, processes and projects

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in a social or behavioural science or related field
  • At least eight years of progressively responsible national and international experience developing, implementing, evaluating and managing social and behavioural change strategies
  • Expertise applying SBC science, theory, research and analysis across the programme cycle
  • Experience managing complex priorities and building external partnerships
  • Fluency in English and French
