Job Description

Integrates gender equality and social inclusion across UNDP’s plastics, chemicals and circular-economy programmes in India. The analyst strengthens livelihoods, safety and social protection for informal waste workers while guiding inclusive design, partnerships, monitoring and evidence use.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Integrate gender equality and social inclusion frameworks across project design, planning, implementation and outputs
  • Coordinate social-inclusion interventions that improve social protection, safety, financial inclusion and livelihoods for informal waste workers
  • Analyse project components and field implementation to identify inclusion gaps and develop context-specific solutions
  • Provide technical support across project locations and connect field teams with the central project team
  • Build partnerships with government, urban local bodies, civil society, private-sector stakeholders and service providers
  • Develop GESI-responsive indicators, baselines, data collection and reviews for adaptive management
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data and prepare project reports, donor communications and knowledge products
  • Support policy analysis, proposal development, stakeholder training and knowledge tools for replication and scale

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in gender studies, development studies, public policy, social sciences or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in one of these fields with two years of relevant experience
  • For the bachelor's route, two years of experience in gender equality, social inclusion, livelihoods, informal-sector integration, social protection or related development programmes is required
  • Proven ability to coordinate with government agencies, civil-society organisations and community-based partners
  • Fluency in English and Hindi

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in waste management, circular economy, urban livelihoods or labour-intensive sectors involving informal or vulnerable workers
  • Experience with social protection, occupational safety, worker-welfare frameworks or inclusion and labour policy
  • Experience in programme implementation, monitoring, reporting and analytical writing
  • Experience engaging grassroots and field partners through UN agencies, NGOs, donor-funded projects or similar institutions
