Overview

The specialist will integrate gender equality and social inclusion across FAO’s ADAPT Jamaica climate-resilience project. The role will implement the Gender Action Plan, guide inclusive budgeting and safeguards, engage vulnerable groups, build capacity and track sex-disaggregated results.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor the project Gender Action Plan across all components
  • Integrate gender and inclusion into assessments, planning, budgeting and field activities
  • Conduct gender analysis and develop sex-disaggregated monitoring indicators
  • Train staff and partners on gender sensitivity, empowerment and GBV and SEAH prevention
  • Facilitate participation by women, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalized communities
  • Strengthen grievance, safeguarding, risk-management and referral processes

Requirements

  • University degree in social sciences, gender studies, development studies or a related field
  • At least five years of development-project experience focused on gender equality, women’s empowerment and social inclusion
  • Working knowledge of English
  • Jamaican nationality
