Responsibilities
- Define the chemicals-sector scope, regulatory perimeter and principal emission sources
- Map facilities and estimate installations exceeding regulatory emissions thresholds
- Develop sector-specific emission factors and carbon-intensity benchmarks
- Propose monitoring, reporting and verification protocols for process and energy emissions
- Assess sector readiness for monitoring plans and identify technical gaps
- Coordinate methodology with government, industry and parallel sector studies
- Document data assumptions, limitations, proxies and sensitivity analyses
- Produce inception and technical reports for UNEP approval and regulatory use
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical, industrial, energy or environmental engineering, environmental management, science, economics, public policy or a related field
- At least six years of professional experience in industrial greenhouse-gas accounting, sectoral baselines, emissions-trading design or industrial decarbonisation
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
