Responsibilities
- Advise project proponents on natural resource and environmental project proposals
- Lead or participate in multidisciplinary project identification and formulation teams
- Ensure quality control of GEF concepts and full proposals against eligibility and programming criteria
- Prepare project proposals and strategic programme concepts
- Design and deliver capacity-development activities on GEF procedures and environmental funds
- Advise on FAO-GEF implementation support and mid-term reviews
- Monitor and supervise assigned projects across the FAO-GEF project cycle
Requirements
- Consultants require an advanced university degree in natural resources management, environment or natural resource economics, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of relevant experience
- PSAs require a university degree in natural resources management, environment or natural resource economics
- At least one year for Category C, five years for Category B or ten years for Category A of relevant experience in biodiversity, climate change, energy, sustainable land, forest or water management
- Working knowledge of English at proficiency level C is required
