Job Description

Provides technical and operational support for UNICEF’s immunization-focused social and behaviour change work in Lesotho. The officer helps programmes and partners strengthen community engagement, social listening and accountability; promote evidence-based interventions that address vaccine knowledge and norms; and advance actions to reduce zero-dose and under-immunized children.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support programme development and planning for social and behaviour change interventions
  • Manage, monitor and support delivery of programme results
  • Provide technical and operational support for programme implementation
  • Promote advocacy, networking, partnership building and scale-up of social and behaviour change approaches
  • Strengthen evidence-based community engagement, social listening and community feedback
  • Support interventions addressing vaccine knowledge, attitudes, norms and practices
  • Contribute to reducing zero-dose and under-immunized children
  • Advance knowledge management and capacity building

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor or equivalent First Level University Degree in Social and Behavioral Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Communication Studies, Communication for Development, Psychology or a related field
  • At least two years of professional experience in social development programme planning, communication for development, social and behaviour change, public advocacy or a related area
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
  • Experience in a UN system agency or organization
  • Experience in immunization programmes
  • Country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
