Job Description

Develops and leads UNICEF communication, advocacy and public-engagement work in the State of Palestine. The Specialist builds awareness and support for children’s and women’s rights through communication strategy, digital content, media relations, partnerships, campaigns and monitoring, while strengthening office capacity to reach relevant audiences, the UN Country Team and global stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage advocacy and communication strategies and related products
  • Oversee digital-content production for priority audiences
  • Build and maintain media relations
  • Develop networks and partnerships that support communication objectives
  • Coordinate celebrities, special events and global-priority campaigns
  • Support resource-mobilisation communication, monitoring and capacity building

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in communication, journalism or public relations, or a first-level degree in journalism, communications, external relations, public affairs, public relations or corporate communications with 2 additional years of relevant experience
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in communication, print, broadcast or new media
  • Fluency in English and Arabic

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with the United Nations or another international organisation
  • Humanitarian and emergency communication experience
  • Digital-media, content-creation and online-communication expertise
  • Country-level experience in development, fragile or humanitarian contexts
