Job Description

Develops editorial, digital and thought-leadership content for UNFPA Executive and Senior Leadership. The Specialist turns policy evidence, programme results and field experience into accessible narratives, manages executive editorial planning and social-media content, and coordinates production and amplification across corporate, regional, country and partner channels.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Research, write and edit executive articles, opinion pieces, messages, video scripts and campaign narratives
  • Translate policy, technical and programme evidence into accessible narratives for global audiences
  • Develop editorial packages for Executive Director missions, events and institutional priorities
  • Plan and implement the Executive Director's social-media editorial approach
  • Adapt executive content across speeches, digital platforms, multimedia and social media
  • Coordinate inputs from technical, policy, regional and country colleagues and verify sources
  • Monitor content visibility, engagement and editorial impact across channels

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations, digital media, marketing, international relations, political or social sciences or a related field
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in communications, journalism, editorial content development or executive communications
  • Demonstrated experience writing and editing high-quality content for senior or executive audiences
  • Experience developing and managing social-media and digital content for senior principals or institutional accounts
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with the UN system, an international organisation or a multilateral or advocacy environment
  • Familiarity with UNFPA's mandate on ICPD, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality and demographic resilience
