Job Description

This UN Volunteer assignment strengthens UNFPA Odisha’s visibility, stakeholder engagement and resource mobilisation. The associate will develop communication products, document programme results, coordinate media and events, research funding opportunities and prepare donor materials. The role supports public outreach, partnerships and financing for UNFPA’s programme in Odisha.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support the state-specific communications and media strategy
  • Draft, edit and design communication materials including factsheets, presentations and infographics
  • Develop success stories, human-interest content and testimonials for reports, newsletters and online communication
  • Maintain media-contact and communication-asset databases
  • Research potential donors, foundations and funding opportunities
  • Assist with concept notes, funding proposals, donor reports and pitch decks
  • Coordinate events, campaigns, press conferences and media briefings

Role Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in communications, media relations or public relations
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with Canva design software

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in journalism, the non-profit sector or communications agencies
  • Experience developing content for social media
  • Experience supporting photo and video documentation
  • Experience in partnership and resource mobilisation
  • Photography and video-editing skills

  • Monthly volunteer living allowance: INR 70,158.41
