Provides global leadership for IFRC Secretariat assistance to National Societies on volunteering. Based in San Jose, the senior officer strengthens volunteer and membership development, manages global data and programming, builds partnerships and advocacy, coordinates regional support, guides plans, budgets and reports, and promotes volunteer-led services and National Society self-reliance.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Oversee IFRC global guidance and tools on volunteering development
- Maintain the global database on National Society volunteers and members
- Promote membership and volunteer drives through regional and country support
- Design, fundraise and run global programming on volunteering
- Manage the Red Family Fund
- Develop partnerships supporting National Society volunteer management
- Coordinate knowledge sharing among National Society practitioners
- Prepare Secretariat volunteering plans, budgets and reports
Role Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in social work or a related area
- Eight to ten years of work experience at a National Society or other non-profit organization
- Experience facilitating organizational change
- Experience in social mobilization, resource mobilization and fundraising
- Advanced English and Spanish
