Job Description

Supports IFRC’s regional operational risk-management framework across the Americas. The officer coordinates risk identification, assessment, treatment, monitoring and escalation with regional teams, delegations and programme units; builds risk-management capacity; and integrates risk information into planning, emergency operations and leadership oversight while serving staff eligible to work in specified IFRC Americas locations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate regional operational risk-management processes and risk registers
  • Facilitate risk assessments, mitigation planning and monitoring with regional teams and delegations
  • Support risk reporting and escalation to management and oversight bodies
  • Deliver risk-management guidance and capacity-building for staff and managers
  • Integrate operational risk considerations into planning, programmes and emergency operations

Role Requirements

  • University degree in risk management, business administration, international development, humanitarian affairs or a related field
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operational risk management, internal controls or assurance
  • Experience applying risk-management frameworks and delivering risk-management training
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Legal eligibility to work in one of the specified IFRC Americas locations

  • Good command of French, Spanish or Arabic
