Job Description

Serves as Deputy Head of OHCHR’s Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, based in Kyiv. The officer provides strategic leadership for monitoring, verification, analysis, reporting and advocacy; directs field and investigative work; advises UN and national leaders; manages staff, resources and partnerships; promotes protection, accountability and international-law compliance; and represents.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight for human rights monitoring and follow-up
  • Oversee evidence collection verification analysis and reporting
  • Direct field verification and investigative missions
  • Advise UN leadership and partners on human rights integration
  • Oversee resource mobilisation advocacy and outreach
  • Manage team activities staff development and resources

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in law international relations political science social sciences or related field
  • At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in human rights international relations law political affairs or related area
  • Experience in human rights monitoring investigation analysis and reporting
  • Experience managing teams and programmes
  • English is required
