Job Description
Advises OHCHR's work on integrating human rights into economic and social policy, sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda. The officer provides analysis and technical assistance, supports national and UN development planning, monitors implementation of human-rights instruments, coordinates with regional partners and country teams, and strengthens capacities through guidance and training.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Analyse and advise on human rights-based economic and social policies and sustainable development
- Support integration of human rights into State and UN development policy, CCA and UNSDCF processes
- Provide policy advice and technical assistance to strengthen national capacities
- Review and evaluate implementation of international human rights instruments and related recommendations
- Prepare human-rights inputs for General Assembly, Human Rights Council and other reports
- Coordinate with UN mechanisms, States, civil-society programmes and international financial institutions
- Support country offices and UN teams with training programmes that address gender perspectives
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, development economics, social sciences or a related field; a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, international relations, law, development economics or a related area
- At least three years of experience integrating human rights into sustainable development, including economic and social policies and programmes at regional or national level
- Experience undertaking research and analysis or drafting reports and documents on human rights and development financing
- English is required
