Job Description
Leads OHCHR's regional advisory work on integrating human rights into sustainable development, economic policy and the 2030 Agenda. The officer will provide policy advice and capacity support to States and UN partners, monitor human-rights commitments, coordinate regional and global work, and promote rights-based development approaches with attention to gender dimensions.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Advise on human rights-based economic and social policies, development programming and the 2030 Agenda
- Integrate human rights into State and UN development policy, Common Country Analyses and Cooperation Frameworks
- Provide policy advice and technical assistance to strengthen national capacities
- Monitor implementation of international human rights instruments and Human Rights Council recommendations
- Prepare human rights sections of reports for the General Assembly and Human Rights Council
- Coordinate with UN bodies, States, civil society and international financial institutions
- Support country offices and UN teams to develop human rights training programmes
- Coordinate regional sustainable-development work with OHCHR's Geneva section
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, development economics, social sciences or a related field, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, international relations, law, development economics or a related area
- At least three years integrating human rights into sustainable development, economic and social policies and programmes
- Experience researching and analysing human rights and development financing and drafting documents
- English and French
