Job Description
Lead quantitative modelling and scenario analysis for Tanzania’s Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy. The senior expert will develop greenhouse-gas baselines and net-zero pathways, assess costs, macroeconomic and investment implications, support national validation and capacity transfer, and integrate documented modelling outputs into LT-LEDS strategy annexes for government ownership.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop modelling methodology and architecture for the LT-LEDS
- Establish greenhouse-gas baselines and business-as-usual scenarios
- Develop sectoral net-zero pathways to 2050
- Assess investment and macroeconomic implications of pathways
- Transfer modelling capacity to national institutions
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in climate change, energy or environmental engineering, environmental economics, energy systems, integrated assessment modelling or a related field
- At least 12 years of relevant professional experience
- Fluency in English

- Tanzania or East African Community experience
