Job Description
Reviews and maps ICAT’s climate-action Toolbox to make its tools and guides more accessible and useful to developing countries implementing the Paris Agreement. The home-based retainer specialist assesses country needs and related resources, identifies gaps and linkages, produces evidence-based recommendations and helps present the Toolbox for practical use in policy, NDC and transparency work.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Review, map and document ICAT Toolbox tools, guides, purposes, functions and outputs
- Assess Toolbox relevance against developing-country needs and the broader climate-tools landscape
- Conduct country and stakeholder discussions to identify needs, challenges and perspectives
- Identify methodological gaps, complementarities and opportunities for Toolbox development
- Prepare a comprehensive report with findings, analysis and recommendations
- Develop an approach, short document and slide deck for presenting the Toolbox
- Support other activities that improve Toolbox usability, accessibility and application
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental management or sciences, international relations, business economics, education, development studies or a related field with seven years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with five years
- Relevant climate-change experience in the context of developing countries
- Fluent English
- Legal right to work in the country from which the assignment is performed
Desired Criteria
- Methodological work developing or applying climate-action or climate-transparency tools and guides is desirable
- Experience drafting climate-action or climate-transparency reports and publications is desirable
