Job Description
This remote consultancy with travel will provide UNICEF Papua New Guinea and government counterparts with climate-policy expertise. It will strengthen use of global climate frameworks, support National Adaptation Plans and Nationally Determined Contributions, build institutional capacity and connect youth perspectives with national climate policy and implementation processes.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Advise UNICEF Papua New Guinea, the Climate Change and Development Authority and government sectors on global climate frameworks
- Support National Adaptation Plans and Nationally Determined Contributions through technical review and policy alignment
- Strengthen institutional capacity to apply climate-policy processes and guidance
- Integrate youth perspectives into national climate policy frameworks and processes
- Support climate resilience and adaptation across social-sector policies, programmes and services
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in climate change, environmental sciences, environmental policy, water resources, international development, public policy or a related field
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in climate change adaptation, climate policy or sustainable development
- Excellent written and spoken English

- Professional engagement on Papua New Guinea climate policy and programming
- Experience with UNICEF programming approaches and processes
