Senior Economist

Leads World Bank financial-sector development work in India, combining policy dialogue, lending operations and analytical services to mobilise private capital. The economist advises senior counterparts, structures innovative financing, develops rigorous sector analysis, coordinates integrated Bank Group solutions, and builds client relationships that support financial-sector reforms and development outcomes.

• Lead financial-sector policy dialogue with government and private stakeholders
• Develop lending operations that mobilise private capital
• Produce analytical and advisory work on financial-sector development
• Coordinate integrated solutions across World Bank Group institutions
• Embed private-capital mobilisation in the work programme
• Maintain client relationships and represent the Bank in sector forums
• Mentor junior staff and share knowledge

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy or a related field
• At least eight years of relevant financial-sector experience
• Fluency in spoken and written English

• PhD or advanced certification
• Hindi or other Indian-language proficiency
