Job Description
The World Bank seeks an extended-term health economist or specialist in Sarajevo to support health-system reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The consultant will provide implementation and analytical support for health financing, service delivery, digital health and quality reforms; contribute to policy dialogue and project documentation; and coordinate with government institutions, development partners and health-sector stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support implementation of health-financing, service-delivery, digital-health and quality-improvement reforms
- Prepare project documentation, results frameworks, indicators and progress reporting
- Monitor results and implementation bottlenecks and propose corrective actions
- Prepare policy notes, technical briefs and diagnostic studies on health-system performance
- Analyse administrative and survey data and international benchmarks
- Coordinate policy dialogue and consultations with government institutions and development partners
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Law, Health Policy, Health Financing, Medicine or a closely related field
- At least five years of professional experience in health systems, health financing or service-delivery reforms
- Experience supporting policy dialogue and reform implementation in complex institutional settings
- Strong analytical skills using administrative health data and financial information
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Knowledge of Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian
Desired Criteria
- Familiarity with health-sector governance and financing in Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Western Balkans
- Experience on World Bank or development-partner financed operations
- Experience supporting lending projects and trust-fund financed analytics
