Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and quality-assure agricultural commodity market and price databases
- Analyse commodity prices, macroeconomic linkages, trade developments and market drivers
- Prepare analytical reports, technical notes, policy briefs, presentations and datasets
- Contribute to production of the Commodity Market Review
- Monitor market developments, emerging issues and policy changes
- Assess implications of developments for agricultural commodity markets
- Support meetings, workshops and technical consultations
- Develop training materials, analytical tools and knowledge products
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in economics, agricultural economics, macroeconomics, international trade, development economics or a related field
- At least one year of economic research and quantitative analysis experience
- Experience with international markets and trade, econometrics, economic modelling or database management
- English
- Another FAO official language
- No more than 32 years of age as of 31 December of the application year
Desired Criteria
- Commodity-market research and empirical economics experience
- Statistical and econometric-methods experience
- Macroeconomic database development and management experience
- Work experience in more than one location or field position
- Doctoral degree
