Overview

Provide agribusiness and value-chain analysis for FAO investment programmes across the Near East, North Africa, Europe and Central Asia. The officer assesses markets, policies, sustainability and financing constraints, shapes investment solutions and supports public-private dialogue, capacity development and knowledge products.

Responsibilities

  • Support multidisciplinary identification, preparation and appraisal of agrifood investment solutions
  • Analyse value-chain competitiveness, market access, resilience, standards and financing constraints
  • Assess policy and institutional conditions affecting private investment
  • Develop knowledge products, practical tools and capacity-development activities
  • Engage public and private stakeholders and international financial institutions in policy and investment dialogue

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in agriculture, agro-industry, agribusiness, economics, agricultural economics and finance, or a closely related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant agrifood value-chain, agribusiness, market-access or investment-operations experience
  • Proficiency in English
  • Intermediate proficiency in one other FAO official language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish
