Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction and quality standards for FAO investment-support work
- Plan and manage the Centre’s programme, staff and technical delivery
- Oversee the biennial programme of work and budget, progress monitoring and reporting
- Develop large and complex agricultural and rural-development investment programmes
- Advise FAO leadership and member countries on investment and finance priorities
- Build public, private and innovative-finance partnerships for agrifood investment
- Represent FAO in high-level meetings connected to the Centre’s mandate
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in economics, agricultural sciences, rural-infrastructure engineering, environmental sciences, natural-resource management, public management, business administration, public policy or a related field
- At least fifteen years of extensive experience planning and managing agricultural and rural-development programmes in developing countries
- Familiarity with policies and procedures of international financing and development partners including GEF and GCF
- Proven intellectual, managerial and technical leadership
- Working knowledge of English at level C
- Intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language
