Senior Investment Officer

The officer will originate and execute ADB private-sector agribusiness investments centred on Mongolia, leading financial analysis, due diligence, structuring and approvals, building transaction pipelines and client relationships, and coordinating portfolio handover, strategy and sector knowledge.

Department: Private Sector Operations Department

• Identify and process direct agribusiness debt, guarantee, equity and technical-assistance transactions
• Lead financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, credit assessment and equity valuation
• Conduct commercial, technical, environmental, social, governance and integrity due diligence
• Structure and negotiate financing and prepare investment committee and Board documents
• Build a pipeline of developmentally impactful and financially robust private-sector transactions
• Maintain relationships with agribusiness companies, financiers and advisers
• Coordinate project handover to portfolio management with complete records and transaction knowledge
• Contribute to Mongolia strategy, policy work and agribusiness knowledge sharing

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or an equivalent field
• At least eight years of experience in corporate and project lending and equity investment, including four years of supervisory experience
• Food and agribusiness investment exposure in Asia
• Understanding of financial modelling, equity valuation, corporate finance and project finance
• Written and verbal proficiency in English and Mongolian
• Mongolian nationality or permanent residence

• Local fixed-term appointment for up to three years with possible renewal
• Appointment is not convertible to a regular position
• Role may supervise junior personnel
