Responsibilities
- Assess tourism demand, local supply, food-safety requirements, logistics and value-addition opportunities
- Design market-diagnostic tools and stakeholder consultation methods
- Guide national experts and service providers conducting consultations with buyers and producer groups
- Develop commercially viable tourism-linked agrifood pilot models for Fiji and Cook Islands
- Support pilot implementation, farmer readiness, buyer engagement and institutional market linkages
- Facilitate national validation workshops and a regional learning workshop
- Prepare country strategies and multi-year action plans for scaling successful market models
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in agriculture, agribusiness, agricultural economics, rural development, food systems, tourism development, value-chain development or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with two additional years of relevant experience
- At least five years of relevant experience in agrifood systems, value-chain development, market linkages, agritourism or rural enterprise development
- Working knowledge of English at level C
