Job Description
The Senior Driver provides safe and efficient transportation for senior WFP staff, high-ranking UN officials and visitors in Kathmandu. The fixed-term role coordinates driver routes and schedules, maintains vehicles and records, supports arrivals and office tasks, and applies transport protocol, safety rules and security procedures to enable reliable country-office operations.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide safe transportation for senior staff, UN officials and visitors
- Maintain protocol, security and vehicle readiness for immediate deployment
- Plan routes and schedules for other drivers
- Meet visitors at entry points and provide basic arrival assistance
- Maintain vehicle logbooks and report mechanical status
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and verify travel authorizations and supplies
- Follow field-delivery and accident procedures and report problems promptly
Role Requirements
- Completion of secondary school education
- Formal driver training and a valid driver’s license or certification to operate the assigned vehicle
- At least 3 years of Driver work experience with a demonstrated safe driving record
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Nepali
Desired Criteria
- Driver experience in an international organization, embassy or UN system
- Experience driving vans, trucks and other motorized vehicles
- Defensive-driving experience
