Job Description
Advise the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media on international standards, legal developments and threats to free expression. Monitor participating States, investigate cases affecting journalists and outlets, recommend interventions, draft reports and public communications, coordinate external counterparts, lead research and outreach, and manage related projects and budgets.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Advise the Representative on media freedom, standards and laws
- Assess restrictions and media developments in participating States
- Recommend interventions and review letters to senior officials
- Supervise investigation of cases involving journalists and media outlets
- Contribute to reports and country-visit outputs
- Maintain contacts with officials, NGOs and field presences
- Represent the office at seminars and conferences
- Manage commissioned research, outreach and financial project activities
Role Requirements
- Second-level university degree in a relevant field
- At least seven years of experience, or nine with a first-level degree
- Experience defending and promoting media freedom
- Excellent oral and written English
- Experience using information technology and social media
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of other official OSCE languages is desirable
