Communications Senior Officer

Leads UNOPS Madagascar's strategic communications for its country portfolio, translating complex project information into donor-aligned editorial, visual and multimedia content. The role manages digital channels and visibility plans, builds engagement with partners and donors, and documents project progress and impacts through field-based storytelling nationwide.

• Develop and monitor the UNOPS Madagascar communications strategy and project visibility plans
• Produce press releases, reports, web articles, case studies and project information materials
• Transform complex technical data into accessible reports and feature articles
• Create graphics and manage end-to-end field photography and short-video production
• Manage editorial calendars, digital content and targeted social-media campaigns
• Engage donors, clients, partners and communication working groups and organise external events
• Document project progress through field visibility missions and impact stories
• Support communication training, knowledge-sharing and research

• Master's degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, multimedia, public relations or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 4 years
• Relevant professional experience in communications, public relations, media, journalism or related fields
• Experience using collaboration and productivity tools including MS Office, Google Workspace and web-based management systems
• Fluent French
• Fluent Malagasy
• Intermediate English

• Recognised professional certification in communications, journalism, digital communications and social media, or graphic design
• Technical experience in content production, graphic-design tools or video production
• Experience managing social media
• Experience developing strategic communications plans for complex or multi-project programmes
• Experience coordinating external communications with donors, institutional partners and media
• Experience in multicultural or United Nations-system organisations in a developing country
• Experience in development or humanitarian contexts
