Job Description

Supports UNOPS Geneva’s participation in global events and partnerships communications. The internship researches events, maintains planning tools and calendars, coordinates delegations and event applications, and develops knowledge products and reference materials. It strengthens the visibility and engagement of UNOPS global programmes with partners through information sharing and outreach.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Research relevant global events and maintain an event calendar, tracker and planning activities for delegations and side-event applications
  • Develop and maintain global-events tools and provide coordination and logistics support before and after events
  • Draft and coordinate internal communications submissions for international days
  • Identify and disseminate event timelines and application processes for global programmes
  • Facilitate calls, communications and key documents supporting participation in global events
  • Follow up delegation registrations, side-event applications and requests from global programmes
  • Develop internal guidance and materials and support UNOPS Geneva visibility on social media, the website and intranet
  • Research and provide reference materials for briefs, notes and statements

Role Requirements

  • Current enrolment in, or completion within three years before the internship application date of, a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in development studies, political science, international relations or a related field
  • Fluent English

Desired Criteria

  • One year of experience in business development, communications or partnerships
  • Excellent report-writing skills
  • Experience using computers, Google Suite/Workspace Office and web-based systems
