Security Associate

Delivers practical, field-based security support for UNICEF personnel, premises and assets in Port-au-Prince. The role supports safe missions and movements, gathers and reports security information, maintains liaison with local authorities and community contacts, and applies UN security protocols to protect staff and operations during duty-station and official travel.

• Accompany personnel on missions and field movements and support safe official travel
• Observe, gather and report security-related information from the ground
• Maintain liaison with local authorities and community interlocutors
• Help safeguard UNICEF personnel, premises and assets at the duty station
• Apply UN security policies, procedures and established security protocols
• Drive when necessary or under exceptional circumstances

• Completion of secondary education
• Relevant technical, military or security training, guarding, first aid or defensive-driving training
• A valid national driver's license
• A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in a security-related environment
• Fluency in French

• Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
• Fluency in Haitian Creole
• Experience in a UN system agency or organization
• Understanding of the United Nations Security Management System
• Experience in security operations, incident management, field security assessments, secure movement procedures, emergency response, security communications or defensive driving
