Field Security Associate

Supports UNDSS security operations in Hpa An by gathering and verifying threat information, maintaining security plans and staff lists, monitoring risk-management measures, reporting incidents, briefing personnel and coordinating with government, police, military and UN security focal points.

Department: Hpa An Field Security Office

• Collect, verify and communicate security information for the Hpa An area of responsibility
• Maintain liaison with government, military, police, NGOs and UN security focal points
• Prepare and update the UN Security Plan and associated staff lists
• Monitor implementation of security-risk-management measures
• Report security incidents and prepare security assessments and related reports
• Deliver security awareness training, orientations and briefings
• Maintain warden, pass, identification and security-contact systems

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Seven years of security, risk, disaster or emergency experience, reduced to five years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
• English at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Burmese at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Valid Myanmar driving licence and ability to operate a manual-transmission vehicle

• Initial appointment is for one year
• This is a locally recruited General Service position
• Travel within and outside Myanmar may be required
