Senior Security Assistant

Supports UNOPS safety and security operations in Mogadishu through specialised administrative and technical assistance. The role gathers and shares security information, supports incident reporting and preparedness measures, maintains sensitive records and communications, and helps personnel and managers apply UN security standards across offices, residences, project sites and operational activities.

• Gather and update security information for risk assessments and security planning
• Maintain personnel, site, security-focal-point and warden-system records
• Disseminate security updates to personnel in the area of responsibility
• Compile compliance data and support reporting on mitigation measures
• Document security incidents affecting personnel, offices and assets
• Support security awareness training and brief newly arrived personnel
• Administer access and security-clearance processes for UNOPS facilities
• Operate satellite, VHF and HF communications equipment during emergencies

• Secondary school with five years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with one year of relevant experience
• Experience in security operations, incident reporting, security administration, security communications or warden systems
• Experience using collaboration and productivity tools and web-based management systems
• Fluent English

• Experience in multicultural or UN-system environments in a developing country
