Procurement Senior Assistant

Supports procurement and contracting transactions for UNOPS East and Southern Africa, ensuring reliable information flow and consistent administrative processing. The role prepares bidding and contract documents, processes transactions and invoices, monitors procurement activity, supports clients with routine guidance, and contributes to procurement learning and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Draft bidding documents, evaluation reports and contract-award submissions
• Process procurement transactions in OneUNOPS
• Prepare purchase orders, contracts, long-term agreements and amendments
• Process invoices and follow up on accurate and timely payment
• Monitor expenditure against allocation
• Maintain procurement status reports and publish advertisements and awards
• Provide routine procurement guidance and information to clients
• Support procurement training and knowledge-sharing activities

• Secondary school with five years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with one year of relevant experience
• Experience in procurement or related areas
• Experience using collaboration and productivity tools and web-based management systems
• Fluent English

• Professional procurement certificate or membership such as CIPS
• Experience working in multicultural environments or UN-system organisations in a developing country
• Experience in development or humanitarian contexts
