Job Description

Coordinates UNICEF Madagascar's sand-dam construction activities in the Grand South, linking field operations, partners and public institutions. The role supports planning, logistics, resource management and technical follow-up so climate-resilient water infrastructure can be delivered efficiently and expanded through documented learning. It helps resolve field constraints and improve the sustainability of water-supply infrastructure.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field activities between UNICEF, partner NGOs, ASDF, MEAH and regional water authorities
  • Support construction planning, budgets, administrative requests, material procurement and transport
  • Track operational needs at construction sites and resolve constraints affecting progress
  • Manage and monitor construction-material stocks at sites and storage facilities
  • Identify measures to optimise resources, reduce operational costs and improve construction efficiency
  • Document experience, good practice and lessons to support scale-up of sand-dam approaches

Role Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating infrastructure works or multi-partner projects
  • Strong organisation, planning and operational follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Communication, coordination and problem-solving skills with institutional, technical and community partners

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in WASH, water resources or hydraulic infrastructure
  • Experience delivering sand-dam projects or other climate-resilient water-supply solutions
  • Knowledge of local Grand South Madagascar dialects
