WASH Emergency Officer

Provides rapidly deployable WASH preparedness and response support for UNICEF Viet Nam. The rostered UN Volunteer conducts disaster assessments, helps plan and monitor technical response, coordinates supply distribution and Cash Plus recovery, engages communities and documents learning, accountability and follow-up.

Department: Humanitarian Emergency Response Roster, Viet Nam

• Conduct rapid and post-disaster WASH assessments with national and provincial partners
• Translate assessment findings into response priorities and technical activities
• Coordinate emergency WASH supplies, distribution updates and partner follow-up
• Support Cash Plus recovery assistance, beneficiary communication and feedback
• Conduct field monitoring and collect disaggregated beneficiary and needs data
• Engage authorities, communities, women, children and persons with disabilities
• Provide monitoring findings to emergency coordination mechanisms
• Document decisions, bottlenecks, lessons and after-action recommendations

• At least three years of relevant professional, volunteer, internship or project experience in emergency preparedness, disaster-risk reduction, WASH, climate change, public policy, programme coordination, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis or a related field
• Good analytical, coordination, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage competing tasks and deliver quality work under pressure
• Good Microsoft Office and artificial-intelligence skills
• Fluency in English including comprehensive drafting ability
• Ability to travel to affected provinces and deploy rapidly

• Humanitarian Emergency Response roster membership may last up to six months and does not guarantee recruitment
