Responsibilities

  • Coordinate WHO emergency programming with national authorities
  • Assess risks, vulnerabilities and preparedness gaps
  • Develop multi-hazard health emergency strategies and plans
  • Mobilize resources for risk reduction and response
  • Build International Health Regulations core capacities
  • Represent WHO in inter-agency emergency forums

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in epidemiology, public health, medicine or a related field
  • At least five years of public-health emergency preparedness and response experience
  • Experience strengthening country emergency and disaster response capacities
  • Experience building health-policy partnerships in developing-country settings
  • Expert knowledge of English
