Job Description
Leads UNDP’s regional insurance and risk-finance work across Latin America and the Caribbean, translating the Facility strategy into country and regional support. The role advises governments and country offices, develops scalable initiatives and partnerships, mobilises finance, and turns technical evidence into policy, advocacy and knowledge products at scale.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide policy support on regional insurance and risk-finance implementation
- Advise country offices and programme countries on insurance and risk-finance programmes
- Develop regional initiatives and scalable country opportunities
- Mobilise project financing and strategic alliances with internal and external partners
- Coordinate delivery partners including the Insurance Development Forum and Global Shield
- Lead regional knowledge management, advocacy and research for insurance and risk finance
- Develop and disseminate training materials, tools and advocacy products across country offices
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Development Studies, Public Policy or a closely related field, or a bachelor’s degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in insurance, risk finance, disaster-risk financing or financial-sector development with a master’s degree, or seven years with a bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrable experience in insurance and risk financing in Latin America
- Fluency in English and Spanish
Desired Criteria
- Experience overseeing projects involving government, civil society, private-sector, academic or intergovernmental stakeholders
- Experience in results-based project management, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation
- Experience managing and mentoring staff
- Experience guiding communications and knowledge-management strategies and products
