Job Description

Serves as a finance expert on the Security Council Panel concerning Haiti, monitoring sanctions measures and investigating alleged violations or non-compliance. The home-based consultancy contributes financial analysis, evidence-based reporting, recommendations and outreach that support the Committee’s work on threats to peace and security, including organised crime, illicit finance and arms trafficking.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Monitor sanctions measures and investigate alleged violations
  • Prepare Panel reporting and recommendations
  • Analyse political and financial developments relevant to Haiti
  • Conduct missions and consultations to gather evidence
  • Classify and archive investigation materials

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in military science, political science, international relations, law, finance, journalism or a related field
  • At least ten years of relevant experience including three years of field experience
  • Field research or investigative experience and high-quality report writing
  • Fluency in English and French

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in Haiti, sanctions regimes or UN Secretariat procedures is desirable
  • Knowledge of Creole is an advantage
