Job Description

Supports UNDP's corporate financial reporting function by applying IPSAS, maintaining reliable accounting data and controls, and preparing statutory, donor and management reporting. The role analyses financial performance, reconciles accounts and resolves reporting issues with country offices, shared services and audit stakeholders to strengthen the integrity of UNDP financial statements.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Prepare statutory and corporate financial reports, including financial statements and donor reports
  • Analyse financial data and resolve anomalies affecting reporting accuracy
  • Monitor financial dashboards and clear data errors with business units
  • Reconcile general-ledger and balance-sheet accounts during financial closure
  • Maintain accounting master data, IPSAS trees and reporting templates
  • Manage accounting, billing and reconciliation activities for assigned financial areas
  • Prepare audit documentation and follow up on audit observations

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education with specialised accounting or finance certification, or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Fully qualified professional accounting qualification from an internationally accredited accountancy institute
  • At least seven years of financial-management experience with secondary education, or four years with a Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with ERP systems and Excel
  • Fluency in English
  • Nationality of the respective country

Desired Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience preparing financial statements
  • Audit experience in a public auditing firm
  • Understanding of IPSAS used by international organisations
  • Knowledge of analytical applications and tools
