Finance Specialist - Financial Statements and Board of Auditors relations

Leads financial reporting, accounting oversight and audit coordination for UNOPS, ensuring General Ledger data and corporate financial statements. The specialist reviews accounting treatment and reconciliations, manages closure processes, responds to audit requirements, tracks corrective actions, improves financial controls, and builds practitioner capability on accounting standards and reporting.

• Review General Ledger transactions for accurate accounting treatment under UNOPS rules
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly General Ledger closure processes
• Prepare General Ledger reconciliation analyses and management reports
• Coordinate automation projects for General Ledger modules
• Review and approve accounting transactions and provide IPSAS guidance
• Plan and coordinate year-end closure and corporate financial-statement preparation
• Test financial transactions and supporting documents through oversight controls
• Prepare audit analyses and reports for the United Nations Board of Auditors and management

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Management or related field with seven years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in those disciplines with five years
• Professional accounting, audit or equivalent certification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIA
• International-environment experience in financial reporting, audit and accounting
• Thorough knowledge of IPSAS or IFRS
• Strong computer skills for clear data and reporting presentation
• Fluent English
