Job Description
Leads finance-process improvement, automation and data-enabled solutions for UNDP’s financial reporting function in Madrid. The specialist analyses record-to-report processes, identifies control and reconciliation gaps, supports fast-close initiatives, tests and rolls out system changes, develops business requirements, and coordinates implementation with finance, IT and other stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Analyse record-to-report processes to identify inefficiencies, control gaps and automation opportunities
- Document process flows, business requirements and control considerations
- Implement approved finance process improvements and support fast-close initiatives
- Test, validate and roll out process and system changes
- Prepare analytical outputs, dashboards, business cases and progress reports
- Coordinate implementation with finance, IT and other stakeholders
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in finance or accounting, or a professional accounting qualification, or a bachelor's degree with two additional qualifying years
- At least five years of relevant data and financial-system-output experience with a master's degree, or seven years with a bachelor's degree
- Experience with international accounting standards and full-accrual accounting
- Experience with ERP systems
Desired Criteria
- Audit or consulting experience in a large international auditing firm
- Process transformation experience in large organizations
- Experience working in the UN system
- International accounting certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or CIPFA
- Working knowledge of another UN language
