Job Description
Coordinates ACTRAV’s relations, priorities and services for workers’ organisations across Latin America and the Caribbean. The officer guides regional specialists, advises senior ILO officials, supports Workers’ Group members and develops donor-funded cooperation projects aligned with trade-union priorities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor ACTRAV relations work and priorities across Latin America and the Caribbean
- Guide regional workers’ activities specialists and coordinate delivery against agreed plans and deadlines
- Advise senior ILO officials on workers’ organisation policies, trends and regional concerns
- Coordinate services for Workers’ Group members at governing, conference, regional and sectoral meetings
- Review ILO reports and prepare policy briefs, communications and press releases reflecting workers’ interests
- Build relations with workers’ organisations through missions, consultation and policy advice
- Design, negotiate and manage development-cooperation projects and donor reporting
- Provide technical guidance to field teams and contribute to ILO strategic planning and country programmes
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in economics, labour law, public administration, industrial relations, political science or a related field, or bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience
- At least ten years of professional experience with workers’ organisation relations, actions and programmes, including seven years internationally in a senior position
- Excellent command of English, French or Spanish and working knowledge of another of those languages
- One of the two required working languages must be English
- Knowledge of workers’ organisations, labour policy, development priorities and ILO programmes
- Ability to provide authoritative advice, manage resources, represent the ILO and negotiate sensitive matters
