Job Description
Directs protection response work for assisted voluntary return in the Dominican Republic, ensuring migrants can access safe, appropriate services and referral pathways. The officer leads protection staff, coordinates with government and operational partners, oversees information management and progress monitoring, and shapes programme priorities and new projects in response to emerging needs.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Conduct protection assessments and identify risk mitigation strategies
- Lead national and international protection staff and ensure adherence to IOM policies
- Draft weekly and quarterly reports on activities and developments
- Coordinate referrals with national actors and protection service providers
- Facilitate access to documentation, family tracing and reunification with consular authorities
- Maintain protection information management in line with IOM and interagency standards
- Monitor protection activities and develop new project priorities
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Research, Law or a related field with five years of relevant professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience
- Fluency in English and Spanish
Desired Criteria
- Experience with movement operations
- Experience with IOM or other UN agencies
- Working knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian
