Job Description

Leads implementation of UNFPA’s adolescent-pregnancy-prevention project in Belize and Suriname. The role coordinates partners, manages programme activities, budgets and results tracking, provides technical support to implementing organisations, and produces reports and advocacy materials to advance sexual and reproductive health, gender equality and informed opportunities for adolescents.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise project activities in the field
  • Support implementing-partner selection, capacity assessment and technical assistance
  • Monitor programme expenditures, disbursements and results
  • Ensure implementation of the annual operational plan
  • Build multisectoral partnerships with government, civil society and United Nations agencies
  • Identify and disseminate good practices and knowledge products
  • Prepare programme and donor reports and communication materials
  • Develop progress reports, presentations and activity updates

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in health, population, demography or a related social science discipline
  • Experience in programme management and stakeholder coordination
  • Professional experience in sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, gender equality or communication-for-development programmes
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with social behaviour strategies
  • Experience developing strategies and sustaining partnerships with United Nations agencies and stakeholders
  • Ability to analyse fundraising trends, opportunities and threats
