Job Description

Leads UNFPA's adolescent and youth portfolio in Gaza, providing programme and coordination leadership across youth, demographic analysis and foresight work. The role steers implementing partners, integrates sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence into youth initiatives, and uses evidence, monitoring and partnerships to strengthen programme results and policy advocacy.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead adolescent and youth programme design, planning and implementation in Gaza
  • Provide technical support to youth implementing partners and monitor delivery against agreed standards
  • Integrate sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence into youth initiatives
  • Analyse demographic data and foresight to inform programming and policy advocacy
  • Manage partner work plans, accountability tracking and programme reviews
  • Build youth stakeholder networks and support advocacy, donor engagement and missions

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a relevant social science, international relations, law, human rights, public health, statistics or population field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in development, population and demography, reproductive health or gender-based violence
  • Demonstrated experience in programme or project planning, design, monitoring and evaluation
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic
  • Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database software

Desired Criteria

  • Understanding of the humanitarian-development-peace nexus and resilience building
  • Experience in adolescent and youth programming
  • Experience working with the UN system
